Art Nouveau North
After it was destroyed in a fire, Alesund was rebuilt in a style that was in vogue at the time but that perfectly expresses the city’s relationship with nature. Sinuous curves and patterns that try to mimic nature, make this city an architectural wonder with those for an eye for such things. You will enjoy a walk with a professional guide who will bring to life the history of the city through the art nouveau designs. Later, meet Inger Anne and Bjorn, a charming couple who own a traditional farmstead outside Alesund.
Board a powerful RIB boat, which is not only a fun way to traverse the sea, but let’s you reach otherwise inaccessible stretches of coast, populated by puffins and sea eagles. Later in the day, you will fly to Oslo and leave the west coast behind, not without a fair share of inspiration of the highest kind.
Norway’s capital is an exciting city that nevertheless has a close relationship with nature. You can enjoy both urban and country living. Your private guide will lead you through the history of the city, to the Grand Café where Norway’s brightest minds gathered for conversation, you’ll meet world-class chefs that will show how Scandinavian cuisine has been shaped by adversity, and how they manage to spring beauty from it.
After some leisure time in Oslo, your private chauffeaur will drive you to the airport.
