A possible, beautiful itinerary for you
Latitude Overload
You arrive in Kiruna, Sweden’s northernmost town. From there you travel to Björkliden, recognised among connoisseurs as the best place to experience the Auroras. At this high-latitude, it is not unheard of to spot dim glimmers even during late summer. During winter, the skies are simply lit with the beautiful, otherworldly lights. As you arrive at your cabin, you can’t take your eyes from the view… as far as you can see, you are surrounded by the Arctic wilderness, and very soon, you will be enjoying the Aurora Borealis.
Snowshoeing Fun
It is one thing to enjoy the Lights from the comfort of a chalet, but quite another to venture into the wild. Abisko National Park offers great country skiing and snowshoeing. You travel deeper into the wilderness, where artificial lights are non-existent. As your eyes become accustomed to the low-light conditions, suddenly a slight glimmer begins to rise in the horizon. You stare entranced, the curious light grows and expands until the whole firmament is alight with the wonderful Aurora: it is a window to another world, to worlds upon worlds.
