A possible, beautiful itinerary for you
Il Canaletto’s Venice
Venice demands an entrance. Your guides meet you at the airport. First you travel by car but afterwards, obviously, you travel by boat. The Grand Canal is already bustling with the activity and the anticipation of the Carnival. You chuckle: now the party starts!
The First Dance
To truly be a part of the celebration, you must follow the strict dress code: only period costumes. In the atelier, you have thousands of garments to choose from. It is an 18th century fantasy come true. When you finally settle for a few, they are fitted to perfection. Your costumes will be delivered in a little while to your hotel. Tonight, you dance the minuetto. Read more
The extravagant sounds and sights of the Carnival render Venice a more seductive city. You join the other revellers at St. Mark’s for the Flight of the Angel. Afterwards you do as the Venetians do and go for a taste of Cicchetti. You enjoy the most authentic flavours of Venice, of course, with the obligatory spritz. You take the afternoon to wander and lose yourself in the streets. The Carnival is just beginning, you need to save some energy.
The Benefit of Knowing Your Way Around
You have always wanted to visit the landmarks and see the art. What would a trip to Venice be without a healthy dose of Tintoretto? Your guides know the city in all its details. With their expertise, you can avoid the crowds and really enjoy the cultural treasures of Titian’s city. In the afternoon, you join a Cotillon at the historic, and exclusive, Palazzo Dandolo.
The first half of the day sets the tone for the evening: a cooking lesson at a noble’s. And now, one of the main events of the Carnival: Il Ballo Tiepolo at the beautiful Palazzo Pisani Moretta. The dinner is full of surprises. The ambience is no illusion, this is no pastiche: you have truly been transported to the 18th century. The dance master leads the contraddanza, and the orchestra plays the merry chords of another age; the prosecco runs freely and the dancer are touched by the beauty of joy. It is a dream, a fantasy you wish would never end.
Your last ball is another masked affair. At the Palazzo Vendramin Calerghi, you let yourself become the stuff of fantasies. Wagner lived here for a while, but you cannot hear a single diminished note. Everything is merriment, and lustful movement. The silk and the glistening stones move across the hall. Beautiful people behind elaborate masks beat to the accompaniment of the gorgeous music. It is a dance, in all the sense of the word. There is no more resistance: truly, Venice is a seducer.
